Indie Album Covers

When creating an indie album cover we need to keep in our genre, however at the same time i feel it should be quirky and different to other album covers. By doing this it will create a different depth to the band itself as it means it would make people look at the cd and want to listen to our music.

This is the foals album cover: i think it is really effective because its simplistic and gives off a message that links with the name of the album. I like how the image looks like it has been drawn and that the one bit of colour is in the mouth this has a weird and quirky  feel to it.

This is the tings tings album cover, Very colourful with a bright red which attracts attention to the eye. This image is also simplistic and contains drum sticks which creates the musical theme.

Both of these album covers are cartoon hand drawn images and so are most indie covers, i feel i want to go against the stereotypical indie cover and create a more emotive cover which link to our main song. For example i want to get a screen shot of a briefcase in which we used in the video, this shows meaning and converges with the song itself. By doing this i feel it would attract our target audience and would look professional.
